Cut off from the outside world, and under an international blockade since 2007, the Gaza Strip and the people who live in it are often reduced to one-dimensional representations in the media. We are rarely afforded glimpses into people’s daily lives in this narrow strip of land.
This project aims to portray parts of Palestinian life in Gaza that often escape the news. Elements of life that bear witness to the ability of individuals to carry on under extraordinary conditions, even while the structures of society are destroyed around them.
I hope this ongoing body of work serves as a testament to the strength, resilience and enduring humanity that can be found in Gaza and among its people, despite their intolerable situation.
